Island peak is very famous and popular trekking Peak in Nepal, it is situated in the Everest Region and a climb of Island Peak can be combined easily with a trek to Everest Base Camp. The peak was first climbed in 1953 by a British expedition team as training for the ascent on Mt. Everest. The peak is a part of the south ridge of Lhotse Shar and the main bulk of Island forms a semicircle of cliffs that rise to the north of the summits of Nuptse, Lhotse, and Lhotse Shar.The climb is not too technical but still provides a good challenge and you do need to be fit.

Everest Base Camp Island Peak Trek 20 Days

This trek not only takes you to the foot of Mount Everest but also provides the challenge of climbing one of the peaks in the region. Imsa Tse peak is popularly known by the name of Island peak. It was named "Island" in 1953 by Eric Shipton as the peak resembles an island in a sea of ice when viewed from Dingboche. Later in 1983 the peak was renamed as Imsa Tse.
Island peak was first climbed in 1953 by a British expedition team as training for the ascent on Mt. Everest. The peak is a part of the south ridge of Lhotse Shar and the main bulk of Island forms a semicircle of cliffs that rise to the north of the summits of Nuptse, Lhotse, and Lhotse Shar.The peak is very popular with people, as it is not too technical but still provides a good challenge.

Itinerary detail's

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu / pick up from airport / transfer to hotel / introductory briefing about the trip
Day 02: Full day sightseeing of Kathmandu to include all important heritage sites
Day 03: Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla; Trek to Phakding, 2610 m
Day 04: Trek to Namche bazzar,3441 m
Day 05: Acclimatization day- Trekking around Namche Bazaar.
Day 06: Trek to Tyangboche, 3860 m
Day 07: Trek to Dingboche, 4400 m
Day 08: acclimatization day at dingboche
Day 09: Trek to Lobuche, 4915m
Day 10: Trek to Gorakhshep 5160m  and visit to EBC (Everest Base Camp), 5363m and back to Gorakhshep
Day 11: Early Morning hike  to KalaPatthar 5545 m. for panoramic view  and trek back to labuche
Day 12: Trek to Chhukung, 4710 meters
Day 13: Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp, 5200m, overnight at camp
Day 14: Acclimatization Day- Basic Training Ascend to High camp 5600m, overnight at camp
Day 15: Summit 6189m and descend to Chhukung
Day 16: Trek to tyangboche
Day 17: Trek to namche
Day 18 : trek back to lukla
Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu

Day 20: As per your flight schedule, transfer to airport and fly back home
